I’m planning my New Years resolutions and I think you’ll love them.

* I’m going to start dieting and lose 15 pounds by 2016
* I’m going to reduce my weekly work schedule by 2011
* Oh yes, and I’m going to reduce my consumption of fossil fuel by 100 gallons per year by 2031

Perfect. Now you may think I’m nuts (or meshugener, loco, fou, verrückt, matto, gek, louco, сумасшедший, 瘋狂, 気違いじみます) setting my goals to start in 2016, but it actually reads like a house energy bill. In fact, it reads like the Democrats Energy Bill, versions which were passed by the House and the Senate ealier this year.

The bill’s oil savings program would mandate reductions of 10 million barrels of oil per day below projected usage by 2031.“

What the hell does that mean? Better yet, is there any person who actually believes that the projected usage is accurate? Do you?
